Volume of home sales in Virginia up 9.7 percent

The July volume was $4.1 billion, up 4.4 percent from the same month a year ago. The number of sales in July fell less than half a percent to 11,495. Low inventory levels continue to hamper sales and drive prices upward, according to the report.

The median statewide sales price in July, with half the houses selling for more and half for less, was $295,000, up 6 percent from the same month a year ago. The average number of days on the market remained low at 50 days, down from 60 days in July 2016.

FEMA has amended the effective NFIP map to remove 2371 Simmons Gap Road from the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA)

 

 

On July 13, 2017 FEMA amended the map to remove the house from the Flood Hazard Area.

On July 13, 2017 FEMA amended the effective NFIP map to remove the subject property from the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) and the Federal mandatory flood insurance requirement does not apply. However, the lender has the option to continue the flood insurance requirement to protect its financial risk on the loan. A Preferred Risk Policy (PRP) is available for buildings located outside the SFHA. Information about the PRP and how one can apply is enclosed.
